Part of this sequence was inspired by a very poetic Tumblr post by headspace-hotel, then illustrated by mooshroomteeth here (screenshot  saved against the half-life of the modern internet.)

Humbaba ants are, of course, not real, but owe a little of their swirling to the Diacamma genus (although the head shape is a bit more like Odontomachus bauri).
